23th Chestnut Festival

Verdon Tourisme > 23th Chestnut Festival
Le Fugeret-en

The village celebrates the chestnut with a market, tastings, animations and the Train des pignes à vapeur which, for its last outing of the season, runs between Puget-Théniers and Le Fugeret.

Every year, more than forty stands occupy the village square in this small rural commune to celebrate the absolute queen of the day: the chestnut!
Fresh, roasted, in jam, syrup, ice cream or reduced to flour, all the possibilities offered by this autumn fruit will delight gourmets.
Other local seasonal fruits and vegetables, both processed and unprocessed, will also take their place on the stalls.
There will also be a number of craftspeople on hand, as well as more unusual products such as chestnut leaf teas, fruitons, chestnut beers and honey, as well as pottery made from chestnut ash…
