Original plant paper creations by artist Aïdée Bernard. A visual artist, she experiments with transforming plants into paper fibers.
Using plant fibers, the artist creates kakemonos, diaphanous sculptures and installations in which paper becomes a mode of expression in its own right, fiber-sign, word-filigree, material-skin.
“I like to immerse myself in nature. To feel deeply where I am, where I come from… The rhythm of the seasons, the impact of the earth, its humidity, its heat, the cosmos that surrounds us. All this sets me in motion. One day, the discovery of paper-making techniques gave me the opportunity to sublimate this encounter with plants. For me, paper is more than just a medium, it’s a means of expression in its own right”.
