Verdon Tourisme > Route de la Lavande Argens – St André-les-Alpes – Barrême
Saint-André-les-Alpes-en

From the hamlet of Argens, renowned for its fine lavender and the distillery that can be visited, follow a road that smells of Provence to St André, where lavender fields overlook the Verdon, then head for the distillery museum in Barrême.

34 km circuit (one way) – approx. 40 mn drive (one way)
In Argens, discover the Bleu d’Argens farm: Come and discover the treasures of Haute-Provence with 100% natural products made from AOP fine lavender and other aromatics. Perched on a plateau overlooking the Verdon valley, the fields of lavender and other aromatics add color to the mountain landscape until late August. Véronique’s slow-cosmetics products are also sold at Provencal markets throughout the year, and on her online boutique.
In St. André, the lavender fields can be reached in a 30-minute round-trip walk from the village center in the direction of Méouilles.
Finally, continue your scented route to the village of Barrême
and its distillery museum. Have you ever noticed the large brick chimney that soars into the sky? This is a perfume plant distillery built in 1905 by an internationally-established German company. Located at the heart of the machinery, the museum is dedicated to the surprising history of this factory and the distillation of lavender in the Grasse hinterland. Aromatic plants, essential oils and games will awaken all your senses. Also worth a visit is the museum store dedicated to lavender and perfume plants.
