On the assault of the Entrevaux citadel

In the heart of this fortress perched 156 metres above the village, go back in time imagining life in its ancient dungeons and underground. 

After a 30-minute ascent along the paved path designed by Vauban, the 360° panorama will reward your efforts. 

  Paying access

  Because of the height difference and the paved path, the climb to the citadel is not recommended for people with walking difficulties.

The access to the citadel is a delight for the eyes. The citadel is a place full of history to visit and the view is breathtaking. What a wonderful place!

Entrevaux has a rich olive-growing heritage.

Symbol of Provence, we find the olive tree at the gates of the Verdon near Entrevaux. Cultivated in terraces on the slopes of the city, the olive tree is an integral part of the village landscape. As in most of the Alpes de Haute-Provence, the variety found is the aglandau which gives a green fruity oil.

The mills of Entrevaux

The mill trail (circuit des moulins) retraces the agricultural past of the village in 5 stops. Aqueduct, wash house, flour mill, oil mill still in operation reveal their secrets. The round path

Away from prying eyes, walk along the round path overlooking the Var River. Along the fortifications, which are classified as historical monuments, you will discover numerous exhibitions that bear witness to the history of those who have lived or passed through these walls.

The motorcycle museum

A must-see stopover, it must be said that the inhabitants of the village are fans of old bikes. The museum houses an impressive collection of two-wheelers displayed like masterpieces. The oldest dates from 1901 and many of them are still in operation.

Free parking is available on the Place Moreau, in the Square Gautier and in the station car park (parking de la gare).

Water from fountains is potable if there is no indication of non-potable water.

Free public toilets are located in Louis Moreau Square, next to the cathedral and in the kindergarten.

An ATM is installed on Place Louis Moreau.

You will find a public garden in the old village with children’s games, a football field, tennis courts and a fitness trail.
