label?<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>The &#8220;Ville et Pays d&#8217;art et d&#8217;histoire&#8221; label<\/strong> is awarded by<strong> the French Ministry of Culture to areas<\/strong> actively <strong>promoting<\/strong> their <strong>architectural and cultural heritage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Created in 1985<\/strong>, this label encourages municipalities or groups of municipalities to  <strong>make residents and visitors aware of the importance of their historic and architectural environment.<\/strong>  It is awarded after a rigorous evaluation process, based on the communities&#8217; commitment to integrating  <strong>culture and heritage<\/strong> in their local development, the relevance of their historical and geographical perimeter, and their ability to preserve and promote  <strong>enhance their heritage.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>A ten-year agreement<\/strong> is signed between the State and the local authority, stipulating the commitments of each party, including the creation of a Center for the Interpretation of Architecture and Heritage (CIAP) and the recruitment of a heritage coordinator.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The benefits of the label<\/strong> include <strong>increased visibility<\/strong> through the Ministry&#8217;s communication media, <strong>use of the label logo<\/strong>, and <strong>support for the production of promotional material<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.culture.gouv.fr\/Aides-demarches\/Protections-labels-et-appellations\/Label-Ville-et-Pays-d-art-et-d-histoire\">Find out more about this label<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Communaut\u00e9 de Communes Alpes Provence Verdon, with its 41 villages, has acquired the prestigious &#8220;Pays d&#8217;Art et d&#8217;Histoire&#8221;
