How do I get here from Nice?

Take the Train des Pignes, or the M6202 road and then the D6202 towards Digne-les-Bains.

Are there public toilets?

Yes, at the station car park, near the post office, at the entrance to the citadel and in the park.

Is there free parking?

The car parks are free, but watch out for the blue zone on Place Louis Moreau.

Parking is prohibited there, except for certain residents.

What walks are there around the village?

  • Chemin du Brec (out and back along the Var)
  • Chemin des Oliviers (out and back)
  • “Les Tuves”, opposite the village, for great views.

Are there lakes on the “hameaux des lacs” hike?

No, the word “Lacs” comes from the Provençal dialect and does not refer to real lakes.

Is there a motorhome service area?

A waste disposal point is available at the station car park.

Can I eat in the park?

Yes, picnic tables are available.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi is available for 20 minutes at the tourist office.

Are there charging points for electric cars?

Yes, at the station car park, near the Hôtel Le Vauban and at the Intermarché towards Annot.

Is there parking for two-wheelers?

No.

Where can I leave my bike / mountain bike / e-MTB?

There is no specific place in Entrevaux.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes, via certain streets.

Is there a heritage trail?

The tourist office offers a guide to the sites not to be missed.

After the entrance bridge, in front of the tourist office, then Place Charles Panier and Place du Planet, towards the school; the entrance is marked by a turnstile on Rue de l’Orbitelle.

How long is the climb?

20 to 30 minutes.

Length and elevation gain of the climb?

800 metres, 156 metres of elevation gain.

Difficulty?

Easy, but it can be demanding for some.

Is it a loop?

No, it is an out-and-back route (the emergency exit on the forest side is closed).

Highlights of the visit?

Panoramic view, small chapel, ramparts, bread oven, photo exhibition, prisons, old underground passages.

Access to the underground passages?

No, for safety reasons.
