The Gorges du Verdon, between the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Var, offer a unique spectacle.
The width of the Verdon’s grand canyon varies from 6 to 100 metres at the riverbed, and from 200 to 1,500 metres at the top of the highest cliffs.

The larch is undoubtedly the king of the forests of the Southern Alps.
Its special feature is that it is the only conifer to shed its needles in winter (larix decidua = which loses its leaves).
The Col des Champs is ideal for discovering this mountain oak.
