Festival Asse Arcadie

Verdon Tourisme > Festival Asse Arcadie
Clumanc-en

The Asse-Arcadie festival helps to create an annual meeting place where practitioners of early art music from around the Mediterranean and Europe can share the fruits of their passion.

In the stimulating setting of the Hautes vallées de l’Asse, du Verdon and du Var, the festival aims to create an “Arcadia” between artists and citizens concerned with the preservation of the planet and the renewal of their culture. From Europe to Mesopotamia, the Levant and the Maghreb, and the Iberian Peninsula, artists of different origins work together on their cultural roots, while local residents and audiences enjoy moments of exchange and conviviality. Music cross-fertilizes. Cultures are tamed. Differences are explained. With aperitifs, buffets and meals, events are an opportunity to involve local residents in showcasing local products.

The series of early music concerts runs from April to October. In April, June and September, each program is given in two distant valleys. In August, five concerts are held over a week in the commune of Clumanc, in parallel with choral and theater workshops for amateur singers. Indeed, the Asse-Arcadie festival aims to bring together professional and amateur practices, in the firm belief that bringing together different artistic gestures in a natural setting helps us to better understand the purpose of art.
