The unique “Annot d’Antan” show invites visitors to travel back in time and discover the charm of the Annot of yesteryear, from 1800 to the Belle Époque of the 1930s.
Thanks to the diversity and richness of its activities, this unique event brings together residents, visitors and enthusiasts in a lively celebration of Annot’s heritage.
1) Folklore and heritage events:
– Historical parades: The brass band and the bravade will liven up the streets several times a day in a festive spirit.
– Traditional dances: Folklore groups will offer performances illustrating local customs.
– Steam train visit: Immerse yourself in the railway past, with a period train parked for the occasion in coordination with the GECP (Groupe d’Etude pour les Chemins de fer de Provence).
2) Village des métiers d’antan:
– Under tents, artisans will be demonstrating their traditional skills. Numerous interactive stands will give the public the chance to try their hand at certain craft techniques: blacksmith, weaver, potter, tanner, vegetable dyeing, wood engraving…
– An all-day “Artisans sans Vitrine” and “Saveurs des Alpes du Sud” craft fair: passionate artisans and farmers based in the Southern Alps offer their craft skills in the friendly atmosphere of direct sales. The quality of their products is faithful to local traditions.
3) Wanderings: legends and tales set to music
– Several times during the day, musical actors will take visitors of all ages from lavoirs to fountains to discover anecdotes and local legends.
4) Local crafts market by night:
– Over 30 exhibitors will be selling regional crafts and gastronomic products.
– Giant wooden games will accompany the market.
5) Festive evening:
– Dance ball: Retro ambience guaranteed, with an orchestra playing musette tunes.
– A great meal: a convivial Provencal meal is organized on the Place du Coulet.
– Fireworks: A pyrotechnic show will round off this emotionally-charged day.
– DJ ball: To cater for all tastes, the festivities committee
